Sol Banyan Villa

The small quiet side lane of the quaint lush green neighbourhood of Sequeri Wado leads to a property which is marked by a thoroughly renovated Goan Christian Chapel. The language of the architecture of this property follows the characteristic Goan-Portuguese tradition in the truest sense.

Set around a beautiful Banyan tree that has inhabited the centre of the plot for over a hundred years, the Sol Banyan ensemble has three buildings wrapped in a C-shape around its garden.

Two of the structures are connected by a large arch and a tower. They represent the access to the ensemble while being in an architectural dialogue with the heritage structure of the chapel. A fine balance of moldings, openings and wall surfaces and typical Goan verandahs structure the elevations and create a traditional appearance.
